OUR STORY
Why “Maruthi”
Maruthi means strength, resilience, service, and healing. Dr. Shaun Rajah chose it deliberately, after more than a decade in clinical neurology watching patients get rushed through appointments at the exact moment they needed someone to slow down.
He’s opening Maruthi Neuroscience and Wellness Center in Bakersfield this fall so that patients across Kern County and the Central Valley have a specialist close to home who treats a neurological diagnosis as the start of a relationship, not the end of an appointment.

At Maruthi Neuroscience and Wellness Center, our mission is to provide compassionate, patient-centered neurological care that combines clinical excellence with a holistic approach to wellness. We are dedicated to helping individuals achieve better brain health, restore function, improve quality of life, and thrive through personalized treatment, education, prevention, and innovative therapies tailored to each patient’s unique journey.

Meet Dr. Shaun Rajah, MD
Dr. Shaun Rajah is a board-certified neurologist dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered neurological care to the communities of Bakersfield and the Central Valley. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of neurological conditions, including headaches and migraines, stroke and cerebrovascular disease, memory disorders, epilepsy, neuropathy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, dizziness, and other complex neurological conditions.
Recognizing that neurological health affects every aspect of a person’s life, Dr. Rajah believes in treating the whole person rather than simply managing symptoms. His approach emphasizes thoughtful evaluations, patient education, individualized treatment plans, and long-term partnerships with patients and their families — supported, when appropriate, by integrative approaches to brain health such as lifestyle optimization and complementary therapies.
Through Maruthi Neuroscience and Wellness Center, Dr. Rajah’s goal is straightforward: deliver accessible, innovative, and compassionate care that helps patients reach the highest possible level of neurological health and quality of life.
